About UsWayne and Hazel Reeves had a lifelong dream of owning their own company, and by renovating a carport into an office and cleaning out the family basement, Reeves Supply was open for business on August 1, 1996. Wayne spent the last 26 years working for Georgia Power and Hazel held several different office management positions, but they were now ready to be self-employed. That same year, Reeves Supply started selling and installing their first product, a 2” out-door fogging system that cooled chicken houses. While business began to grow at a rapid pace, Wayne remained employed at Georgia Power during the day and made fogging systems in the basement at night. As the workload grew, they needed more help. Therefore Wayne and Hazel’s son, Skip, and his best friend Ben Wiggins began working at Reeves Supply during the summer months and on weekends while they were both still in college. As business continued to grow, the basement was no longer adequate, so Reeves Supply’s first building, a 20’x70’ barn, was built. Wayne took an early retirement from Georgia Power as Reeves Supply continued to thrive. However, six months later, the business started to suffer. The demand for 2” fogging systems suddenly was non-existent. The industry had turned to six-inch re-circulating systems. After receiving input from local farmers and some of their most valued dealers, Reeves Supply designed their first six-inch cooling system and installed it on Steve Lovvorn’s six-house broiler farm in Bowdon, Georgia in the summer of 1998. The system worked great, but they quickly realized they could not outsource the parts and be competitive in the market place. With plenty of hope and high aspirations, they put everything they owned up for collateral, built another building and bought their first round of metal fabricating equipment. With extra work, extra help was needed so Reeves Supply hired two more employees, Jeremy Harris and his younger brother Jason. Eleven years, four buildings and several equipment upgrades later, their original employees are still there and Reeves Supply is still thriving as a small company in a large corporate world. Their buildings and equipment have changed in the past eleven years, but one thing has remained the same, Reeves Supply is dedicated to providing high quality products with the best service in the industry. Reeves Supply might not be able to compete with the larger companies on public relations, but the larger companies will never outwork or beat Reeves Supply in customer service. Reeves Supply would like to give a special thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Steve Lovvorn, and to thank Jack Thompkins with Cagles, Bobby Jernigen with Pilgrims Pride and would also like to thank Goldkist/Pilgrims Pride in Carrollton. These two integrators gave Reeves Supply a chance when nobody else would, they will be eternally grateful for the opportunity given to them. Reeves Supply would also like to thank their first cool cell dealers; Farm Systems, Agri-South, Fairmount Poultry and Midsouth Cage Equipment. “With God all things are possible” Matthew 19:26
